We've had no hot water since yesterday! The tenants in the apartment upstairs haven't paid their gas bill... so the gas company shut off their gas. Well, apparently, THEIR gas line was feeding OUR hot water heater, and vice versa. Or... more specifically, their hot water heater is supplying our apartment, and vice versa.

I called the landlord and he told me I have to call the gas company. I called him back a few minutes later to tell him that our stove is still working, so if I call the gas company and tell them that we got shut off, they'll tell me I'm crazy. He doesn't exactly live nearby... so after about an hour, he shows up last night and figures out the problem... but since it's nearly midnight, he says there's nothing he can do.

Whether he swaps the gas lines feeding the water heaters... or the plumbing from the heaters to the apartments, I'm guessing it's going to be a lot of work. As of 10:30 this morning, there's nobody in our basement fixing anything!
